Special Educational Needs

Great Hucklow CE Primary School is a  mainstream school committed to providing a fully inclusive experience for children regardless of need, in an environment which values and celebrates difference and diversity and is proud of its inclusive nature.

Our unique woodland setting offers the ideal location for children with additional needs as the small class sizes, and higher than average adult:child ratio means that each child can receive individual support and guidance to help them achieve not just academically, but socially and emotionally.

Mrs OReilly, our federation SENco,  is a fully qualified, and very experienced SENco. She is charged with ensuring that the schools SEN provision is effective for all of our pupils.  We want all of our children to be SMILERS; healthy, happy and hungry to learn.

Class teachers are responsible for ensuring the the individual needs of children are met within the classroom on a day-to-day basis.  Our teaching staff are supported on a daily basis, working closely with our parents to ensure that all are working towards the same targets in order to achieve maximum effectiveness.

The Executive Headteacher is held accountable for SEND provision and reports to the Governing Body on the progress of all children in school, including our children with special educational needs.
