Snow Day Work - Friday 2nd March

Hello Class 2, I hope you are all having lots of fun in the snow. Hopefully, it will have inspired you to write me a poem about the snow.

Think about these things:

  • How does it feel?
  • How does it fall?
  • How does the wind and snow feel on your face and hands?
  • What does it look like outside your house?

Think about some of the brilliant words we have used in our Shackleton topic to help you with description and write a poem. You can call it whatever you like. And remember, poems do not have to rhyme.

I look forward to seeing your poems!

Please also spend time learning your times tables, especially the tricky ones!

There are some good times tables games on

See you all soon!

The juniors had a great day, in spite of the weather, on their trip to Eyam. They have been learning all about the plague and the effect it had on the village.

Class 2 and 3 had a fascinating visit from The Plague Doctor as they have been studying the subject in history. David came in with lots of different remedies and medicines that would have been used back in the 1600s to treat the plague. The children were fascinated and it was very realistic. Some of the remedies were fairly gruesome!

We have been reading Varjak Paw this term. In our English lesson we recreated some freeze frames from the book.

The junior children had a fantastic day at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield. They took part in various track and field events. We were very pleased with the effort and enthusiasm of the children. We were also very pleased with the overall results.
